Plans, purchases and refunds
In short
- Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time in Manage billing; you keep your plan to the end of the period.
- Changed your mind? Ask within 14 days and we'll refund a plan's first payment, a premium pack, or a credit bundle you haven't used (details below).
- Packs, worlds and models you buy are yours to keep, even if you change plans, unless they're refunded or the payment is disputed.
- Ask for a refund in the app (the menu › Contact support, signed in) or at hello@genmodic.com.
1. Subscriptions (Creator, Pro, Studio, Premium Library add-on)
- Renewal. Your plan renews automatically every month or year, at the price shown when you subscribed, and is charged to your payment method on file until you cancel. Yearly plans: we'll email you a reminder at least 7 days before each renewal turn on Stripe's upcoming-renewal emails.
- Cancelling. Open your account, choose Manage billing, and cancel there; it takes a moment and needs no phone call or email. You keep the plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to Free. Your worlds stay and you can keep opening and editing them, but you can't save new online worlds past the Free limit until you upgrade or delete some. Your online storage drops to your new plan's allowance: files you've stored stay, but you can't add more until you're under it. Premium packs and characters that came with your plan stay in worlds that already have them, but you can't place more. Worlds and models stop selling below Pro.
- Changing plan. A new plan, up or down, starts at once: you pay its price for a new period, and the unused part of your old plan is credited to your account and used toward your next payments.
- Price changes. We'll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your plan, so you can cancel first.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries for a while. If it still fails, your account moves to Free.
- Refunds. If you ask within 14 days of your first payment for a plan, we refund it in full, and the plan ends then: your account moves to Free. After that, cancelling stops future charges but doesn't refund the current period, unless the law gives you that right or we've removed something central to your plan (see the Terms).
2. Premium model packs
A pack is a one-time purchase. Its models are yours to use in your worlds for as long as you have your account, on any plan, under the Model and export licence. We'll refund a pack if you ask within 14 days of buying it. A refunded pack leaves your account: models from it already in your worlds stay, but you can't place more.
3. Credits
Credits pay for AI generation on our accounts, such as AI video. The Director doesn't use them: it runs on your own AI key. Purchased credit bundles don't expire while your account is open. We'll refund a bundle if you ask within 14 days and haven't used any of its credits. Monthly plan credits come with the plan, reset each month and can't be refunded or carried over. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred or sold.
4. Worlds bought from creators
- A world purchase is a one-time payment that gives you access to play it for good, including the creator's later updates. It doesn't give you the right to copy, export or resell it (see the licence).
- Refunds. We'll refund a world if it doesn't open or work, or is materially different from its description, and you tell us within 14 days. Refunds of creators' worlds are taken back from the creator's earnings (see the Creator Terms).
- If a world is removed. If we remove a world you bought because it broke our rules or someone's rights, within 90 days of your purchase, we refund you. Otherwise a world stays available to you even if the creator makes it private or stops selling it. If the creator's account closes, or we must remove a world by law, after 90 days we may not be able to keep it available.
- Genmodic runs the marketplace and takes payment for the creator; the creator is the seller of the world and responsible for it. Sales are Stripe destination charges on Genmodic's account; confirm with the lawyer who is the seller of record.
5. Models bought from creators
- A model from the marketplace is a one-time purchase (or a free download) that you can use in any of your own worlds, including worlds you share or sell. You can't list it again, export it on its own or take it out of Genmodic; exports leave it out (see the licence).
- Refunds. We'll refund a model if it doesn't open or work, or is materially different from its description, and you tell us within 14 days; a person checks these. A refunded model leaves your library and your worlds. Refunds are taken back from the creator's earnings.
- If we remove a model you bought because it broke our rules or someone's rights, within 90 days of your purchase, we refund you.
6. Your rights under consumer law
Nothing here takes away rights you have under your local consumer law. EU and UK: you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content or services. When you buy, you ask us to start straight away and agree that, once you've started using the digital content (for example placing a pack's models, using credits or opening a bought world), you lose that right of withdrawal for what you've used. Subscriptions you withdraw from within 14 days are refunded in proportion to the days not used. Add the express-consent checkbox to checkout for EU/UK buyers, or rely on Stripe Checkout's terms consent.
7. Prices and taxes
Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax, VAT or GST is added where we're required to collect it, and shown at checkout. Turn on Stripe Tax for every checkout first: world and model checkouts calculate no tax today, and plans, packs and credits only with STRIPE_TAX set.
8. How to ask for a refund
Signed in, open the menu and choose Contact support, or email hello@genmodic.com from your account's email with what you'd like refunded. Support chats are answered first by our AI assistant, which applies the rules above: inside them it refunds straight away. Refunds over $30, a second automatic refund within 90 days, renewals, payments disputed with a bank and anything the rules don't cover always go to a person, and you can ask for a person to look at any answer. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days, and what a refund pays for leaves your account (credits included).
Chargebacks: please contact us first. If you dispute a payment with your bank, what it bought is taken out of your account until the dispute is settled; if it's settled in our favour, it comes back.
