Model and export licence
In short
- Use library models in anything you make with Genmodic: worlds, films, renders, games and exports, commercially on Pro and above.
- Don't sell, share or give away the model files themselves, or use them to train AI.
- Keep the credits for models that need them (they come with every export).
- Models you get from other creators in the marketplace are for your own worlds only: they can't be exported or listed again.
1. What you may do
Fingerprint Creative Inc. gives you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the 3D models, textures, skies and sounds in Genmodic's library and the premium packs you own (“Library Content”) as part of things you make (“Your Projects”), while your account is in good standing:
- in worlds you make, save, share and sell on Genmodic;
- in films, pictures and renders you make with Genmodic;
- in 3D scenes you export from Genmodic, used inside your own projects in other software: games, films, apps, visualisation, architecture, education and client work.
2. Personal and commercial use, by plan
| Plan | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Free | Personal, non-commercial projects. Films carry the Genmodic mark. |
| Creator | Personal, non-commercial projects, like Free (Creator adds 4K films without the mark, more credits and storage). The plans say Creator is non-commercial (commercial: false), and the export licence follows that. If Creator should cover your own monetised channels, change the plan and the export licence too. |
| Pro, Studio, Education / Enterprise | Commercial licence: client work, products you sell, advertising, games and films for release, and selling worlds on Genmodic. |
What you made under a plan stays licensed as it was when you made it: if a Pro project ships and you later move to Free, it doesn't have to be taken down. New commercial work needs a commercial plan.
3. What you may not do
- sell, share, give away or upload Library Content on its own, or as part of an asset pack, model library, template or marketplace listing, in Genmodic or elsewhere, even if it's changed;
- let others take the models out of your project (for example shipping the editable source scene of an exported world to the public), except as a necessary part of a finished game or app;
- use Library Content to train, fine-tune or test AI or machine-learning models, or in a dataset;
- use Library Content in trademarks or logos, or in anything that breaks the content rules;
- claim you made Library Content, or remove credits and licence files.
4. Models under open licences
Some free-library models come from other makers under open licences: CC0 (for example Poly Haven), MIT (EZ-Tree) and Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC-BY, some imported models). For those, the original licence applies and may give you more rights. CC-BY models must be credited wherever you credit your project, as the licence file in every export lists. All credits are in Credits and third-party notices.
5. Exports
Every 3D export includes a licence file listing what you may do and the credits its models need. Keep it with the files. Its wording follows your plan: personal use on Free and Creator, commercial use on Pro and above. Export is available on every plan, including Free. Models you got from other creators in the marketplace are left out of exports. Exports still include premium-pack models you don't own (for example from the starter garden); leave them out of exports, or say here that the export doesn't license them.
6. Worlds you buy from other creators
Buying a world lets you play it on Genmodic for yourself. It doesn't let you copy, export, resell or republish it, or take models out of it, unless the creator gives you more rights in writing.
7. Models from other creators
A model you buy or download from the marketplace may be used in any of your own worlds on Genmodic, including worlds you share or sell. You may not list it again, export it, share or sell the file, or take it out of Genmodic, unless its creator gives you more rights in writing. Its creator keeps ownership. If it's refunded, it leaves your library and your worlds.
8. When this licence ends
If your account is closed for breaking the terms, this licence ends for new uses; projects already finished and released under it may stay as they are, except where they break this licence. Ownership of Library Content never passes to you.
