Closed Beta Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 October 2026 · For Genmodic's invite-only closed beta, from 29 October 2026 until the public launch

In short

Before you're invited: the waitlist

Until the beta opens, genmodic.com is a waitlist. When you ask for an invite there, this is all we keep:

WhatDetailsWhy
Your email addressThe address you give, and whether you've confirmed it.To check it's yours, to send your invite, and now and then to tell you what's new at Genmodic.
What you'd like to makeIf you give them: the sentence you tried on the page, and what you told us you make (worlds, games, films, art).To help us choose who goes in first.
Your share linkA short code for your own link, and the code of the link you came through, if any.So friends who join through your link move you up the list.
DatesWhen you asked and when you confirmed. To keep the list in order.

The page counts visits and which of its buttons are used, per day, without knowing who. It sets no cookies and has no ads or tracking; the language you pick is kept only in your own browser. The list is hosted by Cloudflare and the emails are sent by Resend (section 3). Nobody else sees it, and we never sell it.

Leaving the list. Every newsletter has a link to leave, or write to hello@genmodic.com and we'll remove you. If you never confirm your address, we never write to you again. We keep the list until you leave it, or 12 months after the public launch. You must be at least 13 to join it.

1. Who we are

Genmodic is run by Fingerprint Creative Inc., which is responsible for (the “controller” of) your personal information. Contact: hello@genmodic.com. This policy covers the closed beta only; the full Privacy Policy will apply from the public launch, and we'll tell you before it does.

2. What we collect

WhatDetailsWhy
AccountEmail address; a password if you set one (stored only as a salted hash we can't reverse); your name; when you joined, confirmed your email and agreed to the beta terms. To give you an account and keep it secure.
Date of birth, region and languageThe date of birth you give at sign-up (never shown to anyone), your country or region, time zone and language. To check you're old enough for your country, to keep Mature content from people under 18, and to show Genmodic in your language.
Signing in with GoogleIf you sign in with Google: Google's id for you and the email address and name it gives us.To sign you in.
ProfileYour handle, display name, About and picture, if you set them up. With a private profile, others see only your handle. During the beta nobody but you sees profile pictures. To show who made a shared world.
Your worlds and filesWorlds you save online, a picture of each, earlier copies of each (see section 6), and the models, sculpting, painted ground and pictures you upload. A world's reference photo (if you made it from a photo) is never shown to anyone else.To keep your work and open it on any device.
Sharing and playingWhich shared worlds you've played while signed in, your reviews (public, with your handle) and wishlist. For players who aren't signed in, their internet address is used to count a play once a day, and kept for a day.So shared worlds show how often they're played, and you can find them again.
Free Director useFor each request: when, the model, how many tokens it used, what it cost us and the credits it used.To charge your credits fairly and keep free building within its limits.
Reports and supportReports you make or that are made about what you share, and your conversations with support. To keep Genmodic safe and to help you.
Error reportsWhen something breaks: the error message, where in the app, and the code's call stack, with email addresses removed. Never who saw it, their world or what they typed. To fix bugs.

Voice commands are turned into text on your own device; the recording never leaves it. Worlds you haven't saved online stay in your browser on your device.

3. Who we share it with

Only these service providers, each bound by its contract with us to use it for providing its service to us:

We'd also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or with a company that takes over Genmodic, which would have to keep this policy's promises. Each of them handles it only for us, under a data-processing agreement.

4. AI features

The Director. When you ask the Director to build or change your world, we send Anthropic your request, a description of your world, and sometimes pictures of it, with instructions from us. It runs on Genmodic's own Anthropic account, paid from your free credits. Characters in worlds. When you talk with a character, we send Anthropic what you say, the conversation so far, and the character's description from the world's creator, with our safety rules. We keep the cost and size of each request, not the words. Anthropic doesn't use what we send to train its models, and keeps it only for a short time to run and secure its service, unless it's flagged for a safety review.

5. How long we keep it

InformationHow long
Account, profile, worlds, files, reviews and support conversationsUntil you delete them or your account.
Earlier copies of a world30 days (the 20 newest, then one a day), including a deleted world's last copy, so a mistake can be undone.
Files no world, copy or library uses any moreRemoved when you next save, once nothing has used them for a day.
Sign-in sessions30 days, or until you sign out; expired ones are removed every hour.
Email codes and links30 minutes to 24 hours, then removed.
Error reports30 days after the error last happened.
Free Director use recordsUntil you delete your account.
ReportsUntil they're dealt with, then 1 year.

6. Deleting your account

Go to Account › Delete account. We email you a code; once you type it, your account and everything in it are deleted at once: your online worlds and their earlier copies, your files (except ones someone else also uses), library, profile and picture, sign-ins, credits, and support conversations. Worlds saved only in your browser stay there until you clear them. If people have bought something you made, write to us and we'll sort it out (there are no purchases in the beta).

7. Your rights

You can see and correct most of your information in your account. To get a copy of it, or for anything else, write to hello@genmodic.com from your account's email. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights, such as to object or to complain to your data protection authority. If you live in the EEA or the UK, we rely on these legal bases: running the beta you signed up for (contract); keeping Genmodic safe, fixing errors and improving it (our legitimate interests); emails about Genmodic, including the waitlist (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time); and what the law requires of us.

8. Children and teenagers

You must be at least 13 to join the beta (older in some countries). People under 18 can't see or make Mature content, and the Director and characters follow rules for younger users. A teenager's worlds are seen by others only if they choose to share them, and their profile can be private. If you think a child under 13 has an account, write to us and we'll delete it. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to join. Where your country sets an older age for agreeing to online services yourself (up to 16 in parts of the EU), a parent or guardian has to agree for you.

9. Security

Everything travels encrypted, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, your files are private unless you share a world, and staff access is limited and logged. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it applies. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
